Christmas is the perfect time to get away with all the family, especially if you own a static caravan holiday home. Many UK holiday parks are open all year round and if yours happens to be one of them, you could be spending Christmas in your static caravan whilst enjoying spectacular views of the countryside or winter coastline that this country offers.
First thing to remember when you go away during the festive season is it is really important to make sure your static home is very secure. To deter those burglars leaving a light on is always a good idea and if you have a good relationship with your camping neighbours you could ask them to keep an eye on your property while you are away.
Staying Warm In Your Static Caravan
If your static caravan home is not already equipped with higher tog duvets or extra blankets, take some with you. Most new static caravans have central heating installed, but it is always wise to be prepared for any eventuality of the Cornish winters. If the boiler breaks down, you do not want to be cold!
Celebrate Christmas In Your Static Caravan
There is absolutely no reason at all why you cannot decorate your static caravan with the same Christmas decorations you use at home except the tree will probably have to be a touch smaller or at least shorter. Maybe avoid candles inside the caravan because they can be dangerous, but a Christmas wreath attached to the outside of your caravan door will make it look very festive and show the neighbours where to bring the port!
Christmas Dinner In Your Static Caravan
Nearly all modern static caravan holiday homes have an amazing kitchen so you can easily cook your Christmas dinner in it. However, depending on when you go it is practical to cook the turkey at home and take it with you. This saves you time and the day and gives you more room in the oven for all the trimmings.
Mind you, an interesting alternative to cooking the Christmas dinner is to check out what the local hotels, restaurants and pubs are offering but if you intend to eat out make sure you book in advance.
The Best Christmas Staycation
Most decent holiday parks have Wi-Fi and you will be able to watch TV on your tablet or laptop but if you intend to watch your favourite Christmas programmes on your static caravan holiday home television check it has got a good signal when you arrive. You do not want to be fiddling around to get a picture on Christmas Day.
Despite all the electronic gadgetry, we have today, Christmas is a time for all the family to enjoy together so take some board games with you such as Scrabble or Monopoly. It will give everyone’s eyes a rest from screen work and people invariably have a lot of fun.
