Did you know that a summer holiday in a static caravan is cheaper than staying in a hotel and gives you much more freedom, especially if you are keen to explore the great outdoors with a young and growing family? You also get the chance to take more stuff, such as surfboards for surfing in North Cornwall and bicycles, which will help keep everyone busy on a fun and action-packed holiday.

Caravan holidays, on the other hand, are a bit like Marmite: you either love them or you detest them. Personally, we adore them, however there are a few misconceptions to dispel:

You Cannot Cook Properly In A Static Caravan

It’s complete nonsense. Modern static caravans include hot and cold running water, a full stove, oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, saucepans, cutlery, china, and glasses, to name a few amenities.

It Is Difficult To Sleep In A Static Caravan

The children may want to stay up a little later due to the excitement and fresh air provided by being near the sea, but the chances are that the fresh air will cause them to fall asleep without too much coaxing. Static caravans have comfortable mattresses and plenty of extra bedding, as well as being properly insulated and soundproofed. They also offer decent heating, which is useful if you’re travelling late or early in the season.

You Cannot Relax In A Static Caravan

It may be, I suppose, if you want it to be, but it doesn’t have to be. Long treks and days in the country can make a static caravan holiday as difficult as you want it to be. With a little forethought, you can reduce the stress of your stay.

Plan meals in advance, always have enough of snacks, and remember to bring some toys, games, and DVDs, just like you would at home, especially if you have a young family.

You Can Never Have A Good Shower

We’ll be honest: not many static caravans have roll-top spa bathtubs or gold-plated taps, but they all have perfectly fine hot showers, toilets, and washbasins, so there’s no need to scrimp on your daily rituals.

Only Old People Have Caravans

This is ridiculous, because there is no age limit on having a wonderful holiday in a static trailer near a lovely beach. The sites are located in beautiful settings, both in the countryside and along the shore, allowing everyone in the family, young and old, to enjoy them, whether it’s the easy access to the beach or the shaded nature walks.
